National Síolta Aistear Initiative 

Round 2 of ‘Aistear & Play’ CPD will take place in the Autumn 2019 delivered by the Better Start National Early Years Quality Development. Applicants will need to have completed the workshop ‘Síolta, Aistear & the Practice Guide: An introduction’. Preference will also be given to settings who sign up on a whole centre/whole team basis. It is therefore important that if you are applying that your full staff team have completed the above workshop.

Clare CCC are offering two sets of the two NSAI Introductory workshops this summer. Please see details below. If you are interested in applying for the Aistear & Play CPD in the Autumn or you would like to become familiar with Aistear, Síolta and the Aistear Síolta Practice Guide to support your practice, these introductory workshops are for you. Please ring the office on 065 68 64862 to book your places.

Workshop 1: Síolta Aistear Introductory Workshop (2.5hrs)

The Síolta Aistear Introductory Workshop provides an overview of the two national early year’s frameworks, Síolta and Aistear, and the online support tool, the Aistear Síolta Practice Guide.

Date: Monday 8th July  Time: 6.30pm-9pm

Or

Date: Monday 12th July Time: 6.30pm-9pm

Venue: Clare County Childcare Committee Offices, 1 Kilrush Road, Ennis.

There is no charge for the workshop.

Workshop 2: Síolta Aistear Practice Guide Workshop (2.5 hrs)

This workshop will give you a taster of what the Practice Guide is, and the resources available within it.

Date: Monday 15th July  Time: 6.30pm - 9pm

Date: Monday 19th August Time: 6.30pm- 9pm

Venue: Clare County Childcare Committee Offices, 1 Kilrush Road, Ennis.

There is no charge for the workshop.

In addition, If your full staff team are interested in attending these workshops and you have a minimum of 15 people who will attend- we are open to hosting these workshops in your service depending on our available resources. Please contact me directly to discuss this further.

 

Síolta and Aistear Workshops for Childminders

 Síolta Aistear Introductory Workshop (2.5hrs)

 

This workshop provides an overview of the two national early year’s frameworks, Síolta and Aistear, and the online support tool, the Aistear Síolta Practice Guide. This workshop encourages critical thinking and reflection skills, creates space for discussion and will support you to:

• Learn about the purpose and structure of Síolta and Aistear
• Explore the connections between the two frameworks
• Find out about the online Aistear Síolta Practice Guide
• Explore the principles underpinning Aistear & Síolta
• An opportunity to meet other childminders in Clare

Date: Tuesday 23rd July @ 6:30-9pm

Síolta Aistear Practice Guide Workshop (2.5 hrs)

This workshop will give you a taster of what the online Aistear Síolta Practice Guide is, and the resources available within it:

• It looks at one of the key ideas in the Practice Guide – an ‘Emergent and Inquiry-Based Curriculum’
• It explores the adults role as a curriculum developer
• It offers some ideas on how you might use the contents to support reflective practice in your own setting
• An opportunity to meet other childminders in Clare

Date: Tuesday 30th July @ 6:30pm – 9pm

Child Protection and Welfare Training

Always Children First – Child Safeguarding Awareness Training – Foundation for Early Years.

You are only required to attend one day.

Training times and venue:

Requirements for booking a place:

You can only book a place on this training if you have completed the Tusla Children First online e-learning module at the link below:

This training is primarily targeted at Designated Liaison Persons (DLP’S) and Deputy DLP’s that trained in 2014/2015.

Two bookings per service allowed.

You will receive a confirmation email when your booking has been logged onto our booking system.  You will receive your confirmation email on Wednesdays to Fridays.
