Inviting Play Spaces

Children’s early learning and development takes place through play and hand-on experiences. Providing an inviting, well-resourced play environment inside and outside, adults can greatly enrich the learning opportunities that play provides. Inspired by a recent trip to Reggio Emilia Dee Finn has prepared a workshop for us to explore resources and materials that intrigue, challenge and empower children in their play.

Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Charter and Guidelines – Training Programme for Early Childhood Educators

Is it ok to be different? Who is different? Do children notice difference? Are we afraid to point out difference? Are we all the same?
This is a great opportunity to explore such questions informed by research and practical ideas to build on the vital work you are already doing to provide inclusive service. The timing of this programme is well placed as we will ask you to reflect on how you gather information about children and their families to assist them in settling in to your services and to make them feel welcome. The anti-bias approach has a strong focus on supporting the identity of each child and the programme gives a sequential framework and some tools to use to do exactly this.

Dates & Times:
Session 1:  Saturday 21st September (10am – 4pm)
Session 2: Wednesday 25th September (6.30pm – 9.30pm)
