Childminding provides parents with the opportunity to have their children cared for in a home-based childcare setting. Clare County Childcare Committee maintain a database of Tusla registered & voluntary notified childminders in Clare and their contact details are made available to parents who contact our office looking for a childminder. Although we do not recommend any childminder, we can enable contact between childminders and parents. For advice on choosing a Childminder, please click on the pink button below.

All Tusla registered Childminders must have Garda Vetting, but best practice would indicate that all Childminders and their emergency backup contact should be Garda Vetted. Childminders must only apply for Garda Vetting through Tusla.
Here at Clare County Childcare Committee (CCCC) we are always happy to help you with all aspects of becoming a Childminder and continue to support you as you develop a quality Childminding service/business. This service is free and confidential.
If you have any questions about becoming a Childminder and would like further information/support documents, please contact our office on 065 6864862 or email aoife.roche@clarechildcare.ie

The Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Mr Roderic O’Gorman T.D., launched the National Action Plan for Childminding in April 2021. The National Action Plan aims to improve access to high quality and affordable early learning and care and school-age childcare through childminding and sets out a phased approach to bringing childminders within the scope of State-funded supports and regulation over the period 2021-2028.
