We are currently seeking a warm, enthusiastic and reliable after school assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside two other staff members to create a fun, safe and nurturing environment where children feel happy, secure and valued after their school day.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team due to expansion of one of our room the successful candidate must hold a minimum FETAC Level 5 qualification of equivalent. Salary is above national standard the role is fully supported and a full job spec is available on request.
We are looking for two enthusiastic childcare assistants to join our growing After School Club. The hours are Monday to Thursday 1.25pm to 5pm and Friday 1.25pm to 2.30pm during term time, starting in September 2026. Interviews to take place the last week in May.
We are ideally looking for the following:
• have a FETAC level 5 (or higher) in childcare or similar qualification
• be organised, creative and have a love for working with children
• have prior experience of working in a similar role

Clare Haven Services, is a voluntary organisation which provides a wide range of support services to women and children subjected to domestic abuse. Clare Haven Services promotes the rights of women and children to live and grow in a peaceful, non-violent home environment.
We are currently recruiting for the following position:
Children & Young Peoples’ Activity Worker
Term: Fixed Term part-time 18 Month Contract
Hours: 20 hours per week – the hours will be spread across 3 evenings and 1 weekend
weekend work required.
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 4:00pm – 8:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Salary Remuneration will be aligned with the HSE Consolidated pay-scale and will be determined by qualifications and experience.
We are looking for a qualified, committed individual who is passionate about working with Children & Young People, to work as part of the Children & Young People’s Service’s team to ensure consistent care and support for young people (aged 0 to 17) using the service. The applicant will have the ability to work alone and in team settings to provide a therapeutic environment for young people who are subjected to domestic violence.
Key Responsibilities
• Planning, implementing and reviewing activities/programmes in partnership with children (0-17) based on their emerging interests.
• Encouraging children & young people to experience creative, imaginative, manipulative, social and physical play with the inclusion of natural materials.
• To utilise the outdoor environment.
• Incorporate an understanding of how previous life experiences impact on children / young people into practice.
• Promote the rights and responsibilities of each child / young person within the service; encourage children & young people to be aware of the rights and support them to use their voice.
• Contribute the ongoing development of a trauma informed service that responds to the emotional, developmental, educational and other needs of children & young people who have experienced domestic abuse.
• Provide out-of-hours care and support as required
• Work collaboratively as part of the Children and Young Person Team
• Support refuge staff, when required, in the day-to-day operation of the service. this will include but not limited to reception duties (answering phones, assisting clients) housekeeping (preparing rooms, maintaining surroundings) and health & safety responsibilities (checks and implementation).
• Engage with children and families to gather feedback and adapt activities to meet their needs
• Adhere to all safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies.
• Perform other reasonable and relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time by the management team.
The above principal duties are a guide to the general range of duties and are neither definitive nor restrictive and will be subject to periodic review. These duties and the schedule may change with emerging needs of the service, staff are expected to have a high level of flexibility, and a willingness and an ability to develop new approaches to their work.
Hours of Work
The post is a fixed term part time post based on 20 hours per week. The candidate will be required to be reliable and flexible regarding their hours of work and duties assigned. The working hours will be determined by the need of the service and you will be required to work in the evening and weekend as the needs of the young people demand.
Qualifications, Requirements & Experience:
Relevant qualification Youth Work, Social Care or Childcare. Minimum qualification at Level 5 will be accepted or 2 years relevant employment experience working with young people and families.
Experience in needs assessment and planning activities that meeting the agreed upon goals with young person/ Mother/ other agencies
Experience of working at an inter-agency level to advocate for young people
And
Ability to assess the support needs of young people & to signpost to relevant agencies where appropriate
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and to be reactive to the needs of the young people.
Ability to provide a supportive space.
Ability to engage with a variety of professionals and individuals to provide a holistic & integrated response to the needs of young people
Be committed to work in partnership with mothers, the community and other stakeholders

Essential
• Level 5 qualification in Youth Work, Social Care or Childcare or 2 years relevant experience.
• Enjoys working with young people and is passionate about social justice
• Empathy, approachability and an ability to relate to young people
• A team worker with an ability to prioritise tasks and to work well under pressure.
• Excellent IT skills including knowledge of record keeping and database systems.
• Excellent group facilitation skills.
• Strong presentation skills and skilled at public speaking.
• Self-motivated with the ability to working on own as well as be a strong team contributor.
• Flexibility.
Desirable
• 3rd level qualification in Childcare, Youth Work, social Care and relevant experience.
• Understands trauma and its impacts
• Has training in group facilitation and learning with young people
• Has previous experience of working in statutory / voluntary / community settings.
• Strong ability to manage events.
• Proven ability to set own work plans with a progress tracking system in line with objectives set by line manager and to enable all young people to realise their maximum potential, by respecting their rights and hearing their voices, while protecting and supporting them as they transition from childhood to adulthood.
• Knowledge of Clare Haven Services.
• Knowledge of Domestic Abuse and its impacts on young people.
Level Five necessary, Level six preferred, start immediately.
