Free Open Ended Play Workshop for Childminders

October, Training/Workshops
Join Shannan Mulrooney from Maia Purposeful Play for an interactive workshop created especially for childminders. Through hands-on play experiences, you’ll discover how to create simple, open-ended and sensory-rich play activities in your home setting, using everyday materials and following the children’s emerging interests.

This session is a chance to recognise the wonderful work you are already doing to support children’s play, and to see just how much learning, development and well-being is happening in your day-to-day practice. Rooted in research and guided by the updated Aistear framework, the workshop offers clear, practical strategies to help you build on what you already do, and to extend and enhance children’s play in meaningful ways across mixed-age groups.

You will have time to reflect on your own approaches, share experiences with fellow childminders, and leave feeling affirmed, inspired and empowered to enrich the play in your setting.

Each attendee will receive a free play resource to take home with them
