Free Training for SAC Educators – In Person – Barnardo’s Positive Behaviour Training

Clare County Childcare Committee are delighted to be hosting a free Barnardo’s ‘in person’ training for School Age Childcare (SAC) educators only.

In response to an interest identified locally, we have organised this training for SAC educators only, at this time.

The training is delivered by Barnardos and consists of two workshops and participants must attend both workshops.

Who is this training suitable for?

This training is suitable for educators working within a School Age Childcare service interested in gaining more understanding about children’s behaviour and the factors that impact on it. The aim of the training is to help educators to see beyond the child’s behaviour and to introduce strategies for supporting children’s behaviour using the Pyramid Model for Promoting Social Emotional Competence in Infants and Children.

Following this training participants will be able to:

• Recognise all children’s behaviour as communication and identify factors that influence different types of behaviour.

• Describe the links between behaviours and emotions.

• Explore the importance of nurturing and responsive relationships and supportive environments for all children.

• List ways to help children to develop the skills to regulate their emotions and manage own behaviour.
